Bee's 6 months at WJPS!

Time has flown by, and today marks Bee's six months at WJPS. Bee, stood in front of a brick wall.

Some may remember our Meet Bee news story, after 6 months, Bee has re-answered some of the same questions, and a few new ones.

Who are you?

Hello! I'm Bee, I am the Customer Support Advisor here at WJPS!

What does your job role involve & where would you like to take it?

Here at WJPS it is my job to know everything there is to know about our products- this enables me to be the first point of contact for customers with support queries, so I can offer tutorials, fixes, training, and provide the best user support. I also create content for, and run, our social media accounts, (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook).

Some more of my responsibilities are keeping our website up to date, writing news articles, and create how-to documents for our products. I also spend time testing our products, logging customer queries, and offering new suggestions for updates to the development team.

I am also in charge of our new WCS Web Consultancy service; creating content, running site overhauls, accessibility checks, helping clients with SEO, and optimising many of WCS's great features.

In future, I would like to work on WCS 3, and help the developers create a sleek, user friendly, and secure system for our clients. I hope to be able to carry on providing valuable support and training for our clients, helping them fulfil their goals, and keep their site up to current standards.

How are you finding working at WJPS & with it's customer base?

I am still really enjoying it. My work here is varied and within in my skill set, but still challenging.

I have also really enjoyed working in Bedale- meeting many people from different businesses, the scenery, and community are fantastic.

In the last 6 months I have had plenty of time to meet our customers and build relationships with them. I have felt very welcomed by our clients, and have even done some out of office visits!

Are there any aspects of your job that you didn't expect?

I knew that this job would give me a great chance to develop my skills, and learn new ones, but I did not expect for this to happen so quickly.

In my first 'Meet Bee' story, I expressed a desire to create a consultancy service to help our clients get their sites back up to the top standard, but I did not expect that by my sixth month at the company I would have completed two full site overhauls (Aiskew & Leeming Bar PC Website, and Bedale Community Minibus Website) and completed my first full site set up. (Morton-On-Swale PC)

I have been given an opportunity to really build on my communication skills, and my time management has come a long way.

I have also been undertaking a HTML and CSS coding course, this has allowed me to complete more customer support tickets without the need for help from the developers, giving them more time to focus on more complicated issues.

James also sent me on a two day Digital Advantage Course in Tennants, Leyburn, where I met people from other small businesses in North Yorkshire. This course has helped me understand social media marketing, SEO, and effective writing for our news stories. It has also given me lots of transferable knowledge to offer to our clients.

Michael Scott from TV Show 'The Office', saying 'I think that pretty much sums it up'What is your main goal for the next 6 months?

I want to get to grips with our product MRS, so I can widen my range of support I can offer for our NHS customers too.

Fun fact about you?

I have now tried peanut butter- and it is just as bad as I expected. I have also watched The Office another few times over. The post card collection has grown too... we'll ignore the fact I now have 10 post cards from the same place!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank James for hiring me, & The Team at WJPS for welcoming me, I look forward to the next 6 months, and to updating these answers for a second time!
